1943 in 2010, duty calls once more

Our good, old friends over at EA DICE headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden decided to take more time to develop Battlefield 1943 for us hermits, whereas the lemmings and cows have been able to bash away loads of aimless hours without teamwork glued to their controllers and plasma TVs - and yes, you sheep are rightfully missing out and should go back to Mario Kart's balloon race. Allegedly, Digital Illusions CE is implementing more features for the PC platform which should enhance the gameplay experience. Be that as it may, the game risks being published right around the time that another Battlefield installment will go gold that has the potential to kill off Battlefield 1943 altogether.

More importantly, the 1943 release date has been pushed back far beyond the date that Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 is set to hit the shelves. This changes the competitive outlook for our team, which is now determined to switch from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to said game when the time calls for it. A decision on whether to venture into the Battlefield series once more will be taken at a later point in time. For the time being, modern warfare will stay in our ironsights as opposed to the initially planned switch to warfare as conducted in the year 1943 AD.

The start of an era

As the Battlefield 1943 release draws ever closer, old friends as well as new faces are getting together for the next chapter in DICE's franchise. As such, pixelpointers has been set up as a new competitive gaming team in order to make an impression in the domestic (Dutch) and international scenes. Commitment and chemistry being the key words amongst our ranks, we're on the lookout for Benelux players looking to make a return to the Battlefield series.
